Integrated Tribal Development Agency, Rampachodavaram was established in East Godavari District with Kakinada as Headquarters in the year 1975. Later on, the Headquarters was shifted to Rampachodavaram which is its headquarters at present. This ITDA caters to about 2,36,649 of Scheduled Tribes spread-over in 6444 Sq.Kms., of area of the District. Out of the 64 Mandals in the District, 15 Mandals which includes 4 sub-plan mandals under the agency with an area of 6444 Sq.Kms. The ITDA was established to bring about overall development of the tribals in the area and the main tribes present in the area are Kondareddies, Kondakammara, Konda Dora, Kondakapu, and Valmiki.
